Saint Joseph Church

For over a hundred years, it has been a privileged place for religiosity, culture, demonstrations, and gatherings in the city of Belo Horizonte.
The architectural design of the temple was created by Edgard Nascentes Coelho, and the works were directed by the Dutch Redemptorist brother Gregório Mulders. The Church of Saint Joseph adopted the basilica plan – widespread with eclecticism – with three naves, polygonal apses at the chancel and transept, and a frontal projection of the central tower. The interior of the temple has moderate lighting, coming from a sequence of stained-glass windows, whose composition features geometric ornaments in the frames and stars, or flowers, in the crowning.
