Mangabeiras Park

Located on the slopes of the Serra do Curral mountain range, Mangabeiras Park is the largest environmental reserve in the capital of Minas Gerais and one of the largest urban parks in Latin America. A place for rest, leisure and sports, the park receives approximately 30,000 people per month.

Visitors can enjoy natural spots, badminton courts, tennis and multi-sports courts, and playground equipment. In addition, cultural activities are held on commemorative dates in the Praça das Águas (Water Square) and the Teatro de Arena (Arena Theater).

The fauna includes 28 species of mammals, 160 of birds, 20 of reptiles, and 19 of amphibians. The varied native vegetation blends high-altitude grasslands, cerrado (Brazilian savanna), and gallery forests. The park features native forests where one can hike trails amidst monkeys, squirrels, and other wild animals, as well as kiosks, sports courts, children's playgrounds, and arenas for shows and theater performances.
